As an interventional radiologist, Dr. Gao-Jun Teng has focused on innovation and development of new device and techniques initiated by clinical demands. He has successfully invented series of new stent coated with ¹²⁵I radioactive seeds, which applied in esophageal cancer, biliary tract cancer, airway obstruction, and liver cancer with portal tumor thrombosis, etc. Thousands of such patients in the world benefit from these new treatments, with longer survival and better quality of life. As a pioneer of molecular imaging and functional imaging, he discovered several imaging-markers which leads the frontier of the radiology. Dr. Teng was elected as an Academician of Chinese Academy of Science in 2021, and fellow of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in 2022, respectively.
